The Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Dallas, TX

The Perot Museum opened in December of 2012 and teaches children concepts in science, math, and technology through engaging them in hands-on learning. Future scientists, mathematicians, and engineers gain inspiration through interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations, and vivid contextual displays.

Jaffe Holden provided consultation services for the main building including room acoustics, sound isolation, and building systems noise control analysis. Work extended beyond the exhibit areas and included a 300-seat film theater, children’s museum classrooms, an auditorium, and administrative offices.

The team conducted intricate analysis and developed calculations in collaboration with other engineers and the architect to ensure the acoustic environment was not adversely impacted by machinery including an air handling unit.
